GT2, GT3, HTD and 1.5GT Timing Belts: What Is the Difference?
The profile and pitch decide which pulley a belt fits. Here is a quick comparison.
Belt and pulley must have the same profile and pitch. Pitch is the distance between two teeth.

| GT3 / 3GT | 3 mm | Higher torque, smoother running |
| HTD 3M | 3 mm | General power transmission, round teeth |
| HTD 5M | 5 mm | Heavier loads and larger machines |
HTD 3M and GT3 have the same pitch but different tooth shapes, so do not mix them in the same drive. Different profiles are different parts and should never be swapped.
