GT2 vs 2GT Timing Belt: Is There a Difference?

Both names describe a 2 mm pitch belt. What matters is pitch, tooth profile and width.

"GT2" and "2GT" are two ways of writing the same 2 mm pitch curved-tooth profile. Sellers use both names, so you will see 2GT-200-6 and GT2-200-6 for the same size.

How to read the code

• 2GT or GT2: 2 mm tooth pitch.
• 200: belt length in mm (a closed loop of 200 mm has 100 teeth).
• 6: belt width in mm.

What does matter

Match the pitch (2 mm) and the width to your pulley. A 6 mm belt on a 6 mm pulley is the common 3D printer setup. Do not mix GT2 with HTD 3M or GT3 pulleys; the teeth differ.
